About us

Fellowise is a videos sharing & networking platform that primarily built to connect students across the globe. Fellowise also helps institutions to let their current students market their experiences to the future generation to foster their recruitment, understand questions that are being asked by their prospects to their students, and concerns they have & translate them into marketing efforts.

Fellowise’s mission is to connect global students to allow them to share experiences & useful information with each other.

How does Fellowise collect your information?

When you (that includes students, aspirants & Other users) create profiles in Fellowise, you will have to share the following information (one or all) depending on the type of profile you sign up for.

• Full name
• Email address
• Password
• Country of origin & residence
• Academics & Language Proficiency scores
• Personal interests & hobbies
• Future educational plans etc.
• Additional contact information such as phone number
• Topics interested to chat

How does Fellowise store & use your information?

Your Personal Data is maintained, processed, and stored by our authorized Service Providers & servers where the information is stored safely & confidentially as per the law where it is stored. Fellowise prioritizes user security and tries to prevent any unauthorized access upon receiving your information. It is your prime responsibility to keep your password secure. Unfortunately, information that goes over the internet is not always safe. Although Fellowise will do its best & take every necessary steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Website, any transmission is at your own risk.

Fellowise uses your information to connect the students based on the institution you’re engaged/interested in; notify you when provided consent to receive direct messages in Fellowise from the interested institutions, student ambassadors, marketing, recruitment teams, etc., analyze your activities in Fellowise including chat conversations to provide insights to the institutions, to recommend better marketing efforts & products, etc.

You accept this privacy policy, and terms completely, agree to create a profile in Fellowise & comply with them. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use Fellowise, or write an email to support@fellowise.com to delete your profile in case it’s created already.

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you (“User/Ambassador”) and Fellowise Inc. By using or accessing the Application, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Application.

2. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Application, you may be required to register for an account. During the registration process, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You also agree to keep your account information updated.

3. Verification and Ambassador Status

Fellowise strives to maintain the quality of content and be a legit source for student ambassador. Fellowise’s dual authentication system aims to verify an account of active student/alumni and let people know that their profile & reviews are authentic, which helps to build user credibility. Fellowise goes through two levels of process to verify an account:

• Domain verification
• Email verification

Domain verification:

Accounts wish to claim the verified badge must enter their institution email address in “Claim your verified badge” hyperlink, which is available in the Profile page. Fellowise then picks the domain name from it and checks this against the internal authoritative database of institutions domain names.

Email verification:

Fellowise also sends a verification link to the institution email address. Once the link is verified, then the account will have the verified badge on the next page refresh. A verified icon does not imply an endorsement by Fellowise. Accounts that are not verified could be authentic as well, but Fellowise cannot confirm that they are active students/alumni of any educational institution.

4. User-Generated Content

You may upload videos and other content to the Application. Fellowise is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or content of user-generated materials. Users/Ambassadors are solely responsible for the content they upload, and Fellowise does not endorse any opinions expressed in such content.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials and for all activities that occur under their account. Fellowise is not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access to a user's account.

6. Disclaimer of Liability

Fellowise is not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information provided by ambassadors or user-generated content. You utilize the Application at your own risk.

7. Termination

Fellowise reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account without notice if you violate any provision of this Agreement.

8. Changes to the Agreement

Fellowise may update this Agreement from time to time. You are responsible for reviewing the updated terms. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

9. Cookie Policy:

For now, we do not store cookies of any type. Your visit is completely anonymous i.e. nothing is being tracked via cookies at this point. But Fellowise may implement it anytime in the future and you can refer to this page for the updated cookie policy.

10. Contact Information

Fellowise reserves the right to change these policies, terms & product features at any time, so please refer to this page every time you use Fellowise to understand the updated one. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, damage, steal or re-sell any part of Fellowise or its information in contravention of the provisions of our Terms of Use. 11. Profile Delete

A user can delete their profile anytime they want. Fellowise will not use their personal information, so all your personal data will be removed immediately upon your deletion. Except your video content will be removed in next 60 days.

Fellowise Video Content Policy

Fellowise is committed to providing a safe and educational environment for students around the world. To maintain this standard, all video content uploaded to Fellowise must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Relevance to Students:

Videos should be relevant and beneficial to the student community, focusing on educational, informative, or inspirational content.

2. No Offensive Content:

Videos must not contain any form of offensive material, including but not limited to hate speech, harassment, violence, or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or nationality.

3. No Obscene Language or Behavior:

Videos should be free from obscene language, gestures, or behavior that is inappropriate for a student audience.

4. No Harmful or Dangerous Content:

Videos must not promote or depict harmful or dangerous activities, including but not limited to substance abuse, self-harm, or illegal activities.

5. Respect for Copyright:

Users must have the necessary rights to use any copyrighted material in their videos, including music, images, and other creative content.

6. Quality and Clarity:

Videos should be of high quality with clear audio and video to ensure an optimal viewing experience for users.

7. Compliance with Laws and Regulations:

Videos must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to privacy, data protection, and intellectual property rights.

8. Review Process:

All videos uploaded to Fellowise will be reviewed by the Fellowise team before being made available on the platform. Videos that do not meet these guidelines may be rejected or removed.

9. Flagging and Review Process:

Users can flag videos that they believe violate the content policy. The flagging option is available underneath each video by clicking on three dots. The Fellowise team will review flagged videos and take appropriate action. If a video adheres to the guidelines, it will be kept on the platform, and the user who flagged it will be informed of the decision.

The flagged video will be temporarly hidden for the user until the decision has made. Once the video is flagged will not be unflagged again.

By uploading a video to Fellowise, users agree to comply with this Video Content Policy. Fellowise reserves the right to remove any video that violates these guidelines or is deemed inappropriate for the platform.

Blocking Policy

Users on Fellowise can block others if they wish to restrict communication. For now, Fellowise’s communication is primarily chat-based, with no like or comment features.

1. How Blocking Works:

If a user has engaged in a chat with another user and there is a chat history, they can block that user by selecting the “Block” option from the three dots menu in the chat box.

2. Effect of Blocking:

Once a user is blocked, the blocked user cannot initiate new live chats or schedule chats with the user who blocked them, unless they are unblocked.

3. No Blocking Without Chat History:

Users cannot block each other if there is no chat history, as they have not communicated before.
